Regeneration of Pjazza San Lawrenz

This project was awarded the Urban Planning Award in the Malta Architect Awards. Through it, a previously disorganized urban space within the core of this quaint village was redesigned using purposely chosen natural stone paving materials. Pedestrian areas were drastically increased without affecting traffic flow, a central circular water feature was connected to the church parvis through a symmetrical feature paved with the same materials like the parvis, thereby visually extending it without physically doing so. The revamped square serves as the centre stage for various community activities held throughout the year.
