The purpose of this interpretation centre is to consolidate the findings within Mgarr ix-Xini valley and provide information about this natural park. It is situated at a location which welcomes people who are visiting the valley and within one of three afforestated areas of the island. Apart from this, the location of the museum is very close to the cart ruts that were discovered within Ta' Blankas park, which are preserved to this day. The visitors centre is displayed in two dimensions. A horizontal and vertical dimension. The former puts man in relation with the valley environment and the latter puts man in relation with the gods. The display will be divided into two spaces respectively. One space hosts material from the valley itself and the other space will host material from Ghar ix-Xih which was a sacred shrine that formed part of the valley representing the vertical dimension. These two dimensions are complementary; therefore, the visitor can start from either of the two spaces which cross each other. Great care was taken when designing this building in preserving the existing trees, thereby positioning it within the space formed between the trees and ensuring it does not affect their canopy. It will consist of a timber extension to an existing vernacular structure.
